First convertible Z06 to be auctioned in Scottsdale
I’m not much of a betting man, but I’m expecting this one to top the million dollars that the new Z06 coupe pulled down and then some.
After all, this is the first topless Z06 offered by GM from the factory since 1963 when the Z06 option package was introduced for endurance racing, which I think raises the stakes significantly as a collector’s piece.
A million would put it right on par with the first production 2014 Corvette Stingray coupe and the 2014 Corvette Stingray convertible, as highlighted in a recent GM Authority report. Now, I’m no collector, but I would think the 2015 convertible Z06 would hold the same kind of value as these if not more.
Then again, I could be wrong. Either way, we’ll know soon enough as the car will be on the block at the upcoming Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale in January, which is known for some pretty historical bids.
