Florida Man Trades in 2019 Corvette ZR1 for…2019 Corvette ZR1
Even if you already own a 2019 ZR1, there may be a better 2019 ZR1 out there waiting for you. Find that ZR1 at all costs.
If you haven’t heard, Chevy released a ridiculously fast, beautiful sounding, and aggressively-styled vehicle called the ZR1 for the 2019 model year. Long story short, essentially every single person in the automotive community loved it and we totally understand why. It is by far, the most capable and advanced Corvette ever, and, with 755 horsepower, it has the power output of almost eight Chevy Sparks combined.
We wanted to drive one since the moment it premiered at the Dubai Motor Show in 2017. When we did, it was amazing. It’s no surprise why the ZR1 beat out cars like the McLaren Senna and Porsche GT2 RS in Road and Track’s 2019 Performance Car of the Year, its just that good.
Now imagine you had one of these amazing vehicles, you drove it for less than 200 miles (probably less than a week of daily driving) and decided it wasn’t for you. Not that you wanted a different car altogether, but you just wanted a different ZR1. We aren’t sure what world we are living in today, because this actually happened. We know this thanks to Kentucky-based Chevy salesman Mike Davenport aka “The Louisville Chevy Dude.” Davenport says in the video that one of his customers traded in a 2019 ZR1 for a 2019 ZR1. From what we know from the video, the ZR1 being traded in was a non-ZTK package 3ZR with competition seats.

Obviously, the moment you’ve been waiting for is the reason this owner decided to trade his “old” ZR1. What it came down to was that fact that it wasn’t the color he wanted (Shadow Grey) and didn’t have the options he wanted either. Supposedly, the dealership he purchased the car from let him know that the car was in short supply and was rare, thus, if he didn’t purchase one soon, there simply wouldn’t be any left and he wouldn’t have the chance to own one. Sounds like a good bit of peer pressure and smart salesmanship.
Once this owner discovered that he could own one in the exact spec that he initially wanted, he decided to jump the gun and trade his black ZR1 in for a ZTK package in Shadow Grey. Although it still seems crazy, we can’t say we blame him, the ZTK aerodynamic aides really gives the ZR1 some extra flavor to an already spicy package. We are just hoping that one day we can have a 2019 ZR1 of our own, and we’ll trade in almost any car for it.
