C6 Corvettes Throw Down at Latest Formula Drift 2018 Event

By -

C6 Corvette is not only one of the new, best budget drift cars, it also works well at Formula Drift, the highest level of the sport.

We love the C6 Corvette. Well, actually, we love Corvettes of all sorts, from daily drivers to the ultra high performance track day performance specials. That said, with C6 prices dropping, they are beginning to pop up in the world of drifting. From amateur weekend warrior builds all the way to the pinnacle of the sport, Formula Drift, the C6 has become increasingly popular.

This year, there are two C6 Corvettes campaigning in Formula Drift. The first, driven by Matt Field, is a well-catalogued build, and is rocking a neat twist on an iconic livery. We have also ridden in Field’s Corvette at FD Long Beach and loved every second of it. Then there is relative newcomer to the FD world, Dirk Stratton. If the name sounds familiar, it should, Stratton hails from Ohio, where his family runs a large Chevrolet dealership. This, of course, explains his love of the Corvette.

We won’t spoil what happens in this latest Formula Drift event, but watching these wicked C6 Corvettes throw down, and get sideways at almost 100 MPH is wild. So, what do you all think about the C6 Corvette proliferation in the world of drifting?
