Cascade Green 1957 Corvette

This Cascade Green 1957 Corvette with Shoreline Beige coves is one of very few produced in that color combo.

Many Corvette fans feel like the 1956-1957 models were the cream of the proverbial C1 crop, and it’s hard for us to argue with that logic. The styling of these cars is simply sublime and timeless, and we feel like GM really hit the nail on the head in that department. But this Cascade Green 1957 Corvette, which is going up for grabs at Mecum’s upcoming Orlando auction, looks even better thanks to its rare color combination.

Just 6,339 Corvettes were produced in total, and a mere five percent of those were finished in Cascade Green with Shoreline Beige coves, making this beauty a rather rare example indeed. That makes this Cascade Green 1957 Corvette worthy of a pricey and extensive restoration, which is exactly what it has received. In fact, the car has traveled a mere 100 miles since that work was completed.

This particular C1 has a long ownership history as well. It’s been in the care of the same family since 1964, and in the hands of the current owner since 1974. Now, it looks arguably better than it did the day it rolled off the assembly line, with stunning paint and bodywork, perfectly polished trim, and those classy Corvette hub caps flanked by wide whitewall tires.

The ’57 is powered by its original, numbers-matching powertrain, which consists of a 283 cubic-inch V8 rated to produce 245 horsepower with dual four-barrel carbs up top and a three-speed manual transmission. The entire drivetrain was rebuilt during the restoration process, ensuring that it runs as good as it looks. The engine bay is perfectly polished and like new, as everything here has been repainted, refinished, or replaced with new parts.

Inside, you’ll find a freshly done beige interior, which features the proper waffle seat material, courtesy of Al Knoch Interiors. As is the case with the rest of the car, the cabin is quite stunning and looks brand new, another sign of a high-quality restoration.

When it crosses the block later this month, we have no doubt this gorgeous ’57 will attract plenty of attention under the lights, thanks to its irresistible combination of rarity, handsome looks, ownership history, and originality.
