How-To Tuesday: Corvette Clunk Noises
I have personally run in to this issue. As a matter of fact, it drove me crazy for several months. I could go on and on about different reasons why it drove me crazy, but in the end I was finally able to track down the noise coming from the suspension of my Corvette. I sincerely hope it doesn’t take you as long as it did me.
So how was I able to track down the clunking sound emanating from the back of my Corvette? Well, unfortunately for me, I just had to buck up and take it to a mechanic. But perhaps if I had Corvette Forum back then (I won’t say how long ago that was), maybe I could have tracked down the source of the noise and solved the problem on my own. You all are lucky; if you are facing this issue, you now have a solution in today’s How-To Tuesday article.
The article goes through several different issues that you could be facing if you have a mysterious rattle or clunking sound. One of the easier items listed on the article is checking the sway bar end links. The fix on this particular issue is quite easy. I would imagine that for those of you who drive with “more spirit,” this could be one you may come across.
