LEAKED? Curious C8 Z06 Logo Could Be Our Next Hint

C8 Z06

Anticipation for the C8 Z06 is feeling an awful lot like the overall anticipation of the C8 we had before!

We already know it exists, but GM just won’t confirm anything yet. We’re talking about the C8 Z06, of course. History has proven with the C6 and C7 that the Z06 is the first performance model to arrive. Then comes the Grand Sport, then the ZR1. Naturally, all news about a Z06 is pretty much confirmed, which makes this leaked logo all the more interesting to us. But it is a bit of a mystery.

Peeking closely at the image, we can see the watermark of @allcarnews. We decided to cruise their Instagram, and their YouTube channel, but still couldn’t find out where this image came from. We did find the photo through a report from AutoEvolution, so as much as we’d like to pin the source, we can’t. It may be a leaked photo, or could be a 3D printed logo from a Corvette fan. We’ll let you set your own level of excitement.

As for the logo, it is an all new style. This is one thing different from past iterations, who all used a very similar style Z from the C5 to the C7. For reference, this font of Z is on the Z-mode button in the current C8. Again, draw your own conclusions.

To that end, AutoEvolution added in their report that additional C8 test mules have been recently spied in Colorado. The ever popular center mount exhaust is clearly visible, and two other things caught our eye. The high wing is not present, and GM has decided to cloak the rims.

Since we’re all about speculation again, could the covers on the wheels indicate a center lock option? Could a trimmed out low-downforce Z06 put up a serious fight for top speed numbers? Could there be a Z06 to embarrass the likes of a 911 GT3? Although Corvettes in the past have had incredible speed, we haven’t seen a specific one that is stripped out for track duties. We think the C8 now offers a perfect platform for such a car to exist.

But for now, we just have to deal with more teasing from GM till we get the full scoop. But considering the shock we had with the C8, we’re patiently waiting for this new road rocket.
