LMR Sets New Corvette C7 Quarter Mile Record

LMR Z06

We all know that the guys over at Late Model Racecraft can turn out some of the most ridiculous Corvettes on the planet. Some of the videos we’ve showcased in the past are proof of that. However, we live in a “what have you done for me lately” world. So, to quell the haters, stop the doubters, and annihilate all that’s come before, LMR took to the track and shut everyone up with the company’s 2015 Corvette Z06. And during that process, they set a new world record for the C7.

As you can see in the videos below, LMR is now in possession of the world’s quickest C7 Z06. In the quarter mile, the car runs a 9.81 at 142 miles per hour. That, for what is still a street car, is insanely fast. Seriously, that’s ludicrously fast. You might as well just go plaid or warp speed, or back in time.

Just watch as the Corvette Z06 launches like a bat out of hell and continues to press the driver into the seat of the car all the way up to the finish line. It’s frankly remarkable that these guys have been able to tune the new Z06 so much compared to the stock motor. Maybe Chevy can push the Z06 more without needing to go mid-engine? LMR sure seems to know how to do it.
