Man Arrested for License Plate Curtain

Sure, It’s Illegal, but You Have to Admit This Remotely Activated License Plate Curtain Is Pretty Ingenious

If you try to cheat the system, then you’d better accept the repercussions if you get caught.

And getting caught is exactly what happened to Joshua West in Orange County, Florida.

West used a remotely activated license plate curtain to shield his plate from toll cameras. As you can see in the WFTS Action News story above, the Florida Highway Patrol arrested West when he activated his gizmo in front of a patrol car. Had he not, he’d likely still be committing fraud.

Mr. West will be charged with a felony for his attempt at toll evasion, but he is not alone. Toll avoidance seems to be a growing trend.

In New York, there are incidents of cops, firefighters, and city officials engaging in similar behavior. They mask their license plates in order to avoid paying tolls.

To quote Steve Murphy from the Netflix show Narcos: “The bad guys need to get lucky every time. The good guys just need to get lucky once.”

Or sometimes good guys can also be bad, as seemingly no one really wants to pay for tolls.
