So what does the world’s fastest C7 Z06 look like? Well, you’re looking at it right here. While on the outside it’s clear that drag slicks have been added, we need to know a bit more of the story to see what’s been done under the hood. A little digging on the forums tells us that HorsePowerAddicts only added the following mods:
-IW 18% lower pulley
-AFE CAI
-HorsePowerAddicts tuning
-Corsa Mid pipe
-17/18 wheel setup
-93/109 fuel mix
With minimal tinkering, the 1/4 mile time of 9.81 @ 141 is simply astronomical. Compare that to an article we wrote a few months ago about a showroom Corvette that held the stock world record at 10.41 seconds! Do drag radials really make that much difference?
This black C7, not only looks the part, but also performs as we expect our wholesome Corvette to do. Not like other cars from the Big Three, which claim huge power, but fail on the drag strip (I won’t name any names).
We’re only given one pass to watch in the video below, but I guess the numbers tell all. This is the new king of C7 drag racing. Is it too soon to take the crown from the ever-popular C6? Only time will tell. Every month though, the latest gen ‘Vettes are getting faster and faster…
