Well folks, in case you haven’t heard, the official numbers are in for the new Z06, and the Corvette kingdom will never be the same. GM announced that the new top-of-the-line, no-holds-barred, catch-me-if-you can 2015 Chevy supercar will kick out an earth-shattering 650 horsepower with 650 lb-ft. at 3,600 rpm.

Damn, that’s a lot of power.

Initially expected to come in at around  “at least 625” horsepower, the Internet started buzzing a few days ago that the numbers for the Z06’s new LT4 supercharged 6.2L V8 engine could be higher, but I’m sure few expected this. Based on Chevy’s official rundown, not even the Ferrari F12berlinetta or Porsche 911 Turbo S lives up to the kind of horsepower-to-torque ratio that is pumping out of the new Z06.

“The LT4 Small Block sets a new benchmark for power and torque at GM,” said Steve Kiefer, vice president, GM Powertrain Engineering, in the official release.

Hell, I bet all those Ferrari and Porsche boys are hiding in a corner right now peeing in their pants.
