NoviStretch Presents Corvette of the Week: C5 Daily Driver
When I first laid eyes on this Corvette of the Week daily driver owned by Corvette Forum member “FSJim“, I was transported in time. “FSJim’s” 2004 Corvette reminds me of the 2000 Sebring Silver Metallic Corvette Convertible my dad used to let me drive every day to high school in 2002/2003 during my senior year. For a number of reasons, that car made my final year of high school a lot more memorable.
It was as if a hypnotist had snapped her fingers the moment this C5 began to reflect off my corneas. Suddenly, images flashed in my mind of my senior homecoming evening when I was driving with the beautiful woman I was proud to call my date for that night.
While my dad’s C5 had nowhere near the impact on me compared with the C4 he had owned prior, his C5 was around when I was of legal driving age, so the experiences I had in that fifth-gen Corvette were some of the most impactful experiences I’ll ever have in my life. Thank you, “FSJim” for providing me this trigger to recall the good times.
Now if I only had a trigger to reenact “Slowly I Turned“.
This Corvette daily driver came from our “We Love our ‘Vettes, but What is Your Daily Driver?” thread. Here’s a gallery of some members’ dailies. Those who don’t daily their Corvettes still own pretty interesting “everyday” cars. Special props to fellow Audi A4 driver “tommyo4“.
