NoviStretch Presents Corvette of the Week: Too Many Grand Sports to Choose Just One

The Grand Sport name has a long and storied history, dating all the way back to 1963, when Zora Arkus-Duntov and his team of heroes set about creating a car that would stick it to Carroll Shelby’s Cobras.

Since those first five, ultra-light racers, the name has grown to mean something different, though excellence is still a tie that binds. The Grand Sport special edition was initially introduced in 1996, the final year of the C4 generation. The name went on to gain legendary status with the C6.

Such excellence is thoroughly celebrated in a thread started by Corvette Forum member, Seadawg. Seadawg got talked into showing off his Cyber Gray 2011 Grand Sport Coupe at a local car event. And for some reason he seemed a bit surprised by how much attention the car got.

“It was fun watching the folks talk about our ‘Vettes. I even had one guy wait for almost an hour (for me to return back from admiring other cars) to try to buy mine ,” posted Seadawg, along with a couple of choice pics of the GS setting up at the show.

Well, that post alone might have been good enough to garner our NoviStretch Corvette of the Week. But as you can see in the gallery below, the thread filled up with many more proud GS owners posting even more beautiful GS photos.
