Outside the Box: This C3 Corvette Is Getting a Cool Wrap Job

Vehicle wrapping is a pretty common thing these days, though this is very likely the first wrapped C3 I’ve ever seen. Taking inspiration from a vintage race car, forum member AllC34Me is showcasing just how well this idea works. With the cost of a wrap significantly cheaper than a paint job, the advantages are obvious. Plus, anything from logos to designs and pinstripes can all be printed into the wrap material, meaning the design is only limited to your imagination.

The material is pre-printed in such a way that is custom to each car, accounting for curvature of body panels. It’s also as durable, if not more so, than traditional paint. In this car’s build thread, AllC34Me describes the process with white being the base color. From there, the car is uploaded to a computer simulator, which will allow a sampling of different colors and graphics to be observed before the printing process begins for the second layer of wrap. Though the material is removable, if an owner desires, an extra clear coat can be added on top of the wrap to make it permanent.
