New Recaro Speed V Sport Seat Revealed at SEMA

Recaro combines comfort and performance all in one package.

This year at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Recaro announced some good news for Corvette owners. The all-new Speed V, a bespoke adjustable semi-bucket seat designed for C6 and C7 Corvettes, made its debut. Soon enough, Corvette owners will have the opportunity to purchase a seat with performance pedigree along with comfortability needed for everyday driving.

Have you ever been in a situation where your weekend canyon cruiser doubled as an occasional track car? Along with the extra maintenance needed to keep your baby up and running in tip-top shape, you’re going to be needing to upgrade items like brakes and tires. Another important bit you’re going to be thinking about upgrading is the driver seat. However, you don’t want to get a full-bucket seat because it’ll sacrifice comfort.

That’s where the new Recaro Speed V comes in. It seems like it may be a good choice for the Corvette owner that loves to attack corners on his favorite back road or race track. If you’re like us and have a dedicated track car, then you know all too well how uncomfortable the drive to and from the race track is in a full bucket seat. But that’s what us speeders do to save weight and increase performance.

The Speed V promises to make traveling to the track as comfortable as sitting in a La-Z-Boy, holding you nice and snug when the driving situation calls for high lateral Gs. You no longer have to settle for your stock seat or make the jump to full buckets. With the Speed V, you can have the best of both worlds. Even more awesome is that it’ll come available in red, white, or blue accents. ‘Murica!

Recaro says that the Speed V sport seat will be available to order sometime around March 2018.
