Reggie Jackson’s Corvette Collection Looks like a Grand Slam
Mr. October is every bit as good at amassing an incredible Corvette collection as he was smashing baseballs into orbit!
When it comes to baseball’s all-time greats, few can hold a candle to the legendary Reggie Jackson. The hall of fame slugger earned his nickname “Mr. October” after posting countless clutch playoff performances, helping three different big league clubs secure World Series victories. With a total of ten rings as a player and an executive, Jackson obviously has the means to enjoy many hobbies. One of which is clearly amassing an incredible Corvette collection.
That collection, which also includes a host of other impressive muscle cars, is now looking for a new home. The Reggie Jackson Collection is the star of the upcoming Mecum Original Spring Classic, which takes place in Indianapolis May 15-19. Jackson is offering up 19 of his personal rides in total, seven of which are covet-worthy Corvettes.
For starters, there’s a 1966 427/425 hp which earned a coveted NCRS 5-Star Bowtie award. With a mere 35,000 original miles on the odometer, it’s an amazing unrestored example of only 976 Nassau Blue Corvettes built in this guise. It’s joined by a stunning, low-mile, maroon ’67 coupe that’s also in incredible, unrestored condition. A 1-of-771 fuelie ’65 caps off the C2 offerings with an incredible 9,660 original miles and more awards than we can count.
C1 fans have plenty to get excited about with this Corvette collection, too. An unrestored ’61 Tuxedo Black fuelie offers up only 29,200 original miles. Then there’s a multiple award-winning ’61 big brake fuelie, one of only 233. And a ’62 fuelie for good measure, one of the nicer unrestored ones we’ve ever seen.
It’s clear that Mr. October is just as good as accumulating amazing Corvettes as he once was smashing baseballs into orbit! And if you’re like us, you’re going to want to tune in and see just how well these amazing rides do when they cross the block.
