There’s just no telling exactly what David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan might do on their Motor Trend Channel show, Roadkill. And that’s exactly why I love tuning in.

In their latest episode, the guys take the entire body off a 1985 Corvette and turn it into a bare-bone race car with a 350-horsepower rat rod engine, road cage and all. Then they pit it against, of all things, a 640-horsepower C7 upgraded by Lingenfelter Performance, complete with an Edelbrock blower, Kooks headers, and Corsa exhaust.

With both Freiburger and Finnegan freely admitting that they’d hardly consider themselves track experts, the turnout of this race could easily be attributed to driver error, if you ask me. But hey, just watching the guys work on that C4 Go-Kart and then blasting it around town makes this vid plenty worth your time. Throw in the ceremonial burnouts that start around the 22-minute mark and you’ll be wishing you could have these guys’ jobs for at least a day.
