Stradman Is Flipping His 2023 Corvette Z06, but New Owner May Not Be Getting a Warranty

This highly desirable 2023 Corvette Z06 is loaded to the gills, but it has also stirred up quite a bit of controversy in short order.

It was obvious from the day we learned that a new C8-based Z06 was on the way that people would take advantage of high demand and low supply to turn a profit on the special machine – heck, just look at the regular old Stingray, which is still being flipped on a regular basis. However, GM threw prospective flippers a potential curve ball when it threatened to not honor new vehicle warranties on the 2023 Corvette Z06 if owners sold them within six months of taking ownership. Regardless, some – namely dealers – have managed to successfully flip their new Z06s by not registering them first. That doesn’t appear to be the case with this 2023 Corvette Z06 owned by mega-popular YouTuber James Lucas Condon – better known as The Stradman, but it’s up for grabs on Cars & Bids right now.

Obviously, this news immediately ruffled some feathers, with Matt Farah of The Smoking Tire fame going so far as to express his displeasure with the situation via Twitter, as can be seen here. Farah openly questions the situation as a whole, particularly the fact that this Z06 is apparently being sold with the Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin (MSO), but no title – by a dealer, on top of that. However, that isn’t the case, according to the dealer that’s selling the car on Stradman’s behalf.

“Stradman has submitted the title and registration request for this vehicle,” the dealer responded. “Upon conclusion of the auction, we as the selling dealer will finalize the transaction with the bill of sale, and will be able to provide temporary vehicle registration for the new owner while we await delivery of the inbound title.”

As such, the new owner will apparently be the second owner of this 2023 Corvette Z06 after all, meaning that GM will likely not transfer the warranty. Clearly, that isn’t affecting hungry bidders one bit, however, who have already pushed the hammer price of this special machine up to nearly $200k with a full six days to go.

Unlike some other examples we’ve seen lately, this one is at least equipped with all the good stuff – the Z07 Performance Package, 3LZ trim, and Visible Carbon Fiber Aero Package, but somebody’s really going to have to want this car bad to pay a massive premium to get it, as well as take the risk of buying what is essentially a brand new car with no warranty.
