Whoever said we’re in the twilight of horsepower and performance cars hasn’t looked outside recently. If anything, we’re in the new golden age of both.
Just take the following video of a race between a C7 Z06 and a motorcycle as proof.
While the Corvette Z06 is getting most of the headlines these days, it seems plenty of people are happy with their C7 Stingrays, so much so that they don’t feel compelled to trade up.
When Dirk Diggler first shows off his new “Competition Orange” 1977 Corvette Stingray, he says, “This is it — this is the thing. This is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen in my life.”
This rant goes out to the group that has decided that buying the last-generation Z06 is the far-better investment than the new car, especially when you throw in a few performance modifications.
Yesterday marked the first day of shipments for the all-new Corvette Stingray Z06. With 650 horsepower and 650lb-ft of torque, the new ‘Vette is sure to set the road on fire.
I still find myself getting starstruck each time I lay eyes on the C7 Corvette in person. Check out the gallery after the jump to see the 2015 Corvette strutting its stuff at this year’s LA Auto Show.
