Peeking Under the Hood at the Engine Bays of Corvette Forum

Lets face it, Corvettes are bought for the way they look as much as the way they go. That said, a clean engine bay does a good job of showcasing both of those properties at once. Some guys like it clean, some guys like it chromed, and some guys go wild with paint. Either way you look at it, it is a source of pride when you’re asked to open your hood.

Now, some of these are not to everyone’s taste, but everyone has a vision, and they have the freedom to carry it out. That said, I tend to gravitate towards the clean and simple philosophy. The valve cover shields on the later LS engines make for some good canvas to work with, giving some engine bays a splash of color. And some guys even remove them altogether for a “naked” look. And you can’t mention engine bay on the Corvette without mentioning the under side of the hood. The insulation pad is the biggest piece of real estate to customize, and some guys go all-out.

Take a look at some of the pictures below, and see what you think. Then go ahead and stop on by the forums and upload some pics of your own engine bay!
