If there’s one thing that we know for sure about the Tesla Model S P90 — and now P100D — cars is that they’re incredibly quick in a straight line. They’re a bit of a one-trick pony, but here’s more video proof of exactly how fast the Model S is compared to a brand new Corvette Z06.

There are two Model S cars in the video below, a P90D and a P100D. According to the video’s description, it’s the P90D that ends up drag racing the Corvette. The Corvette runs the quarter-mile in 11.589 seconds with a speed of 126.38 miles-per-hour. The Tesla makes the same journey in 10.946 seconds at 120.93 miles-per-hour. Were this a longer race, such as a half-mile or more, the Corvette would’ve decimated the Tesla.

Does this mean anything in the grand scheme of things? No. The Z06 is a well-rounded sports car that can not only go in a straight line, but also corner on a race track. One could argue that the Model S is one of the fastest grocery getters on the planet, though!

Have you gone up against a Tesla at the track? How’d it turn out? Let us know!
