Jaguar Owners Switching to Corvette

All-Wheel Drive Has Turned Some Enthusiasts Away From the Jaguar F-Type, and Toward the Corvette.

It used to be that you wouldn’t really make a direct comparison between the Corvette and whatever was Jaguar’s current sports cars offering. That’s not the case anymore, as this Corvette Forum thread comparing the C7 GS to the 2015 Jaguar F-Type R clearly shows. Quality, performance, and (arguably) looks are on a similar level between both cars,  so you can now mention both in the same breath.

Drive wheels at the back is a standard sports car configuration, and also is the selling point of the Corvette. Aside from just 2015, the current F-Type’s ultimate version, the R — and the SVR for that matter — are only available in all-wheel drive formats. While that may be a benefit for acceleration times, it pays a hefty penalty in weight and overall feel. While they may both be dynamic over-achievers, the driving sensations of the Corvette, especially the Grand Sport, seem to deliver in ways that the F-Type just can’t.

Styling and design are very subjective. Jaguar has done an incredible job with the F-Type, creating one of the most beautiful cars on the road today. Same with the Corvette. This poses a dilemma for anyone on the fence making a decision between the two cars. Both are great machines, and offer high thrills. Cost is similar as well. Which would you choose?
