Twin Turbo C6 Corvette Z06 Shakedown

A winter’s morning in Florida. All is calm and quiet before some early testing. Just a simple test to see what Redline Motorsport’s Twin Turbo C6 Z06 can do for trap times at 60 feet, 330 feet and the 1/8th mile. Is it going to be fast right out of the box? Probably, but the team still has to fettle with a few things. The boost controller needs to work perfectly, the engine tuning probably has some room for improvement, and the all-important suspension set up needs to be able to hook just right, every time.

First pass out is a respectable 8.52 on 15 PSI of boost through the twin turbo V8, but that’s ultimately not why the team is here. They are looking for launch, so with 1/8th mile results at 5.40 @ 132, they are more than satisfied with the day’s results.

The next time out, the team will look at 1/4 mile times, and turn up the boost 9 PSI for 24 lbs of boost. They promise that 7s are coming, do you believe them?
