Hennessey HPE700 Twin-Turbo C7 Corvette Stingray on the Dyno

Hennessey Performance has just released a video of its first twin-turbo 2014 Corvette Stingray on the dyno, and the preliminary results are promising.

Running seven pounds of boost and 93-octane fuel, the HPE700 Corvette put down 608 horsepower and 565 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels. Calculate for a 15-percent driveline loss, and at the flywheel, the twin-turbo Hennessey ‘Vette is producing 650 lb-ft of torque and the 700 horsepower its “HPE700” name suggests.

I called Hennessey Performance to see when this twin-turbo upgrade package will be available, but for the time being, mum’s the word on that info.

Check out the video below to watch the double-boosted C7 Corvette steal the dyno’s lunch money. Also prepare yourself emotionally for the sonically sensational wastegate “whoosh” that happens at :34 and :41 in the video. I swear, if you watch this dyno run while standing, the overwhelmingly pleasurable frequencies this ‘Vette emits will make you collapse just as violently as the Tacoma Narrows Bridge (a.k.a. “Galloping Gertie“) on the morning of Nov. 7, 1940.
