Z06 Gives a Ferrari F12 a Highway Run

Bolt-ons and a cam allow this Z06 to worry the Italians.

One of the things that Corvette owners enjoy most is giving a poke in the eye to far higher priced Italian exotica. The empire of performance built upon a name like Ferrari is shaken regularly by our beloved car built in Kentucky, for a third of the price. So, what do you get when you pair up a lightly-modified C6 Z06 with a newer Ferrari F12? You get a surprisingly close race.

Starting from a roll, the Corvette and F12 start their race, and well, let’s be honest, the Ferrari starts to pull a lead. But it’s worth noting the gap isn’t significant, and the Ferrari’s lead doesn’t arrive till assuredly hitting triple digits.

Z06 Gives a Ferrari F12 a Highway Run

From the video’s description, we can only tell that the Z06 has bolt-ons and a cam. Beyond that, we don’t really know what’s going on under the hood to increase power from the stock rating of 505 horsepower. For a little perspective, the Ferrari F12 comes equipped with 731 horsepower. We have to assume the Ferrari is most likely as it came from the factory with no mods. The fact that these two cars stayed nearly even for as long as they did proves the Z06 can put some power down with authority.

If there’s anything to be smug about, it’s that we know there’s a host of well-known faster C6’s out there that would absolutely destroy an F12 if it dared to come near. In this video, the Ferrari gets to keep its crown. For now.
