Corvette Z06 Fire Extinguisher for $17,000?

Yet again, I’ve got to give it to the guys at Jalopnik.

Like ‘em or not, they are tough to beat when it comes to being the first to dig up interesting car world tidbits that would leave you wondering if said tidbit is true, but for the fact that they have the goods to back it up.

The latest tidbit includes what clearly was a mistake on Chevy’s Build Your Own Vehicle site for the Corvette Z06, which had a fire extinguisher listed as an option for the low, low price of $17,160.

Yup, that’s seventeen-grand folks, which as Jalopnik points out, is the price of a Chevy Cruze.

It appears that the error has since been corrected, as the item is no longer listed on the Chevy site. But it’s a good sign that you might want to double-check that options list when you’re building out your new Z06. Unless you just really want a high-end fire extinguisher.

Of course, the guys in the forum are having some fun with this one already, including imagining what a $17,000 fire extinguisher might look like…
