Default [ASKED] Spats, Protective Film, and Splash Guards

If you look at a C6 Z06, ZR1, and C7 Z06 you see spats on the front wheel well openings. These look like tacked on after thoughts. On the back of the front and rear wheel well openings the fender does not completely cover the tire which allows rocks to chip the paint on the side of the car. Yes, C7s have a clear film applied to protect the vulnerable area where the rocker panel kicks out ahead of the rear wheel, but again this looks like a tacked on afterthought.

Can you please tell us why you are not molding the fenders to eliminate the need for spats, protective film, and splash guards?

How about restating your question in a less confrontational manner.

Here are a couple of links where the topic of Spats has been discussed.

In this link, see posts #4, #6, #7. Cheaper. The spats allowed them to use the stingray front bumper. But this does not answer the question of why they do not mold the fender so they can eliminate protective tape and splash guards.

Since you only used the last sentence of my question Mr. Juechter might only answer the question for the C7. Most of use would like to hear his answer for both the C6 and C7.

How about you re-word your question such that it's not confrontational or combative? Elsewise it goes as I cut it.

I would like to know this as well. Clearly it was thought to be a problem otherwise the (mostly useless) tape would not be there stock. Even adding splash guards and Xpeling the entire quarter panel does not do the trick alone.

Im probably going to have to bite the bullet and add sideskirts to my stingray even though there is not a factory option for it and I find them to be unattractive anyways.
