Default What Makes a Corvette a "Corvette"?

Original question is here.

Clairvoyantwolf asked:
Is a corvette a “Corvette” if instead of large displacement high torque V8 it instead came with a small displacement high revving engine of whatever configuration? Are such concerns a consideration when developing a new model or generation? And how would you characterize the corvette driving experience, especially how it relates to your competitors?

Default Corvettes and the Outgoing Vice President

The original question is here.

jvp asked:
According to Road and Track, it appears that outgoing VP Biden spent quite a bit of time bending your ear at this year's NAIAS. While keeping politics out of the discussion, what can you tell us about this experience? And do you think he'll end up buying a new Corvette soon?

Default What Does the C7 Front Air Dam Do?

The original question is here.

village idiot asked:
There has been a lot of debate about this (front air dam) and why it isn't on Z51 (and z06?) but is on the base model.

I've heard it increases downforce, which seems strange because the performance model(s) don't have it, but have more downforce in the rear.

Can you give us an explanation for why it isn't on the performance models and any data on what it does for aero (effects on lift/drag/etc)?

The original question is here.

n8dogg asked:
Could you explain to us what is behind the determination of how many Corvettes are produced per day, week, month, year?

Default Pedestrian Safety Features

The original question is here.

MACE_Hardware asked:
I've seen several mentions in the periodicals about Pedestrian Safety regulations affecting vehicle design.

Please explain the regulations in general and how they affected Corvette C7 in particular.
