Default Centerline Bookmatched Carbon Fiber Design

Tadge,
It is very exciting to see centerline bookmatched carbon fiber detailing on the exposed CF parts of the ZR1. Having received a private tour of Horacio Pagani's Huayra by Horacio himself I was amazed by the complexity of the process. How is it possible to do this on the ZR1 when it's normally reserved for 2 million dollar plus cars? Can you also give the forum a primer on how it's done and difficulties of the process? Thanks

Can you provide a link on what exactly this is? I have never heard of it and a quick google search isn't turning up anything.

There's a line right down the centerline of the longitudinal length of the car where they lay up the carbon fiber at 45 degree angle to the line. The other side of the line is mirror imaged so it creates a 90 degree alignment of the carbon fiber. I noticed that all the parts are done this way except the top roof panel. Pagani started doing this on his Zonda. Bugatti as well as Konigsegg are now doing this expensive technique.

I think this would still be a excellent question to Ask Tadge considering the ZR1 and any car going forward.
