Search this forum, there is a thread from two years ago that provides detailed instructions on card removal.

Lots of related threads! For a start, never respond to anything, never pay them for anything, Never give them anything. At worst, all one is then stuck with is their most basic service for a while, but even that will die on it's own.

If you don't pay them anything they turn off the system except for the blue push button if you want to call and sign up. They don't track your car and report to the insurance company unless you pay extra for them to do that.

Pull the fuse that is under the rear hatch floor mat or the actual OnStar box is located on the passenger floorboard kick panel (not the bcm which is on the floor). It will be on the right side upper kick panel, I think it says WiFi or something similar, you can just disconnect all the plugs and antenna and you are good but will have no Bluetooth or navigation. Hope this helps

They absolutely track you, regardless if you pay or not. They just don't give you anything for it. There was just a story about a GM car that was stolen. OnStar knew exactly where the car was, but since the owner hadn't paid for the service they refused to release the information.

Who cares, it's a waste of time to disable it and there are consequences to other functions you will want to use in the car like bluetooth... You drive with a phone in the car, don't you? Onstar is the least of my worries about being "tracked."

Don't just pull the fuse. You'll put a break in the car's internal data network and cause far more problems than you think you're solving.

If you absolutely have to disable it, pull the Onstar module out and remove the cellular daughtercard from it. Then put the module back in the car.

not true my man, I have pulled the fuse for several months and thousands of miles with no issues. I disconnected the module and had zero issues or check lights

If you don't want to lose your Bluetooth, then the correct way to disable OnStar is:

Haha but why would you want to 'remove' it, just don't pay for it ? Tracking is the least of concerns...you have a working cell phone right
