I need some help setting up my stereo. i have it set to 3 way with a pair of 6x9 pioneers in the back, a 10"JL W6 powered by a JBL 600.1 and a pair of 6.25 inch speakers in the front.
rite now my setting for crossover are as follows:
Low 0,2,160
MidL 0,0,31.5
MidH 0,0,10k
High 0,4,3.2k
and my PEQ is set at
+2,1, 2.0k
+2,1, 5.0k
+2, 1, 25
+3,1,100
+3,1,315
what can i do to make it sound better, rite now im not hearing much from the front, most of the music is coming from my 6x9s.
Donate your Pioneer speakers to Goodwill. You were already on a good streak buying JL products, however much I distaste them as well.
seriously, Pioneer is crap. It sounds like your running your mids/highs off of your head unit. Alpine head units are great for sound quality and longevity, but poor if you want to run your highs off it in conjunction with your sub. Consider an amp for your setup. Not a big one, just something.
I am guessing your sub is at 160? If so that is too high. Drop it down to 125 or 100. Then your other speakers should pic up from there. If you are using the head unit you should get an amp for your speakers. Your EQ has too many pluses. If you lower all the +2's down to 0 and the +3's to +1 you will achive the same sound with less distortion. What you want to do is reduce not increase. It would be even better to drop the +2's to -1's and the +3's to 0's.
Honestly you should install an amp. I would do that first before any other changes.
