Need Info..1999, Delco Bose am/fm/cd radio

My 2001 Coupe came with a Delco Bose AM/FM/Cassette and with the 12 Disc CD Changer. I am thinking about switching out the head unit for Delco Bose am/fm/cd. I have been told that the one out of a 99 will not work or is not compatabile. Any one know why it would not work?

I believe that the 99 to 2001 head units are the same part number.

I was told by a corvette salvage yard that 97-99 are the same but 2000 - are a different part number and price

99-2k1 same
