I am having an upgrade done to my stock bose system in my C6. The shop that is doing it recommended the following. The only limit I gave them is that I want to keep the stock HU so I can keep the NAV, voice controls, and HUD connectivity:
Replace front door speakers with Dynaudio 240 2 channel speakers ( http://www.dynaudio.de/eng/auto/mobile/240mk2.php ) powered by JL amp 300/2, 10" JL Audio Stealthbox sub in back powered by JL amp 250/1. They are putting a cleansweep on so I can use an IPOD with a direct AUX connection.
They are recommending to leave the stock rear speakers disconnected. I would like to hear from anyone who has done their C6 and whether they felt it was needed to upgrade the rear speakers or if they left them out. If you left them out, have you been happy with the sound. For the money I'm paying, I want maximum performance.
I would personally leave them out. You can always add them later if you want to. I would leave them out and try it out for at least 2 weeks or even a months worth of driving. When you upgrade the fronts to the level that you are, and adding a sub, you no longer need rears. Unless you are goign for surround sound. I thought i would need the rears after i did components up front. Not the case. I dont even miss them att all. its nice having the sound come from up front. Just try it and you will see. If the fronts are set up correctly you wont need rear fill
