Default (Dialup go get a snack)I finally finished installing navigaton system

Eclipse AVN-6600 and IPC-106 Ipod adapter. Saturday was a beautiful 70F here in ny. Mounted the gps antenna under the vent on the dash. I'm still able to get signal from all 4 satellites and I don't have to look at it. Ipod controller box fit perfectly under the dash pad between gauge cluster and center vent. I ran the ipod wire to the center console. I chose this model after reading countless reviews that other brands and models had slow or crappy ipod control. This you can browse through all your albums in no time. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Yes, did you have to cut the vette dash? And will the screen tilt work?

Fantastic install, looks awesome!

I had to take a Rotozip to the plastic back behind the radio because it was a litttle longer than the stock headunit. Other than that it was a direct fit. I didn't bother hooking up the parking brake wire that just got grounded. The lite green wire on the shifter tells it when its in reverse. A green with white stripe wire on the stock harness is the vss. And I think a grey wire on that same harness was illumination. only other wires it needs is power and speaker wires. It wasn't too bad to install. There are a lot of sharp edges in the dash. My hands look like I got in a fight with a cheese grater.

Good thing pain is temporary, 'cause that is awesome!
I didn't think I'd like the look of a GPS / large screen head unit in a c4, but it looks right at home! Nice work!!

crutchfield charges $2k. I was lucky enough to find someone selling it brand new with 1 yr warrenty for $1450 shipped on ebay. Ipod controller was $50 at circuitcity. Took 2 days to install but I am slow and took a bunch of breaks in between.

yep, Ill take pics tomorrow. the shifter can't be in park when it opens up. this thing sounds just as good as it looks too. I'll take a video of a dvd playing tomorrow too.

my next project is it to recover the speaker grills with a speaker fabric. what were they thinking covering the speakers with carpet?!?

Looks good.

Can you post a pic from farther back, showing the whole dash?

Did you find a way to install it so that it bypass the "watch a DVD while only in park" function? (i.e. for the passenger)
