Got 6x9 in your C5 front doors???????????
I would like to see them and how you mounted them if I may?
I already have 6.5, I want to try something different.
TIA

Well ... I guess there are worse options for your front doors .. but with that much bass I would set aside some money for a couple of months and pick yourself up a decent 6.5" component set for the front. With a minimal outlay the 6x9's will hold you over but are not a solution to your front stage volume problem.
But hey if you like the way it sounds that is all that matters

6x9s are in. If the thought of cutting your vette casues you discomfort please exit out.
Prior posts above explain why I did this. And let me state right off I am very pleased with the results so to me that is what matters.
On to the pics.
Had to cut away some fiberglass. My neighbor was shocked.
The 6.5 is gone. Originally I kept the mounting bracket for the blows and made an adapter for the 6.5 to fit it.
All cleared away.
My 6x9 adapter
Test fitting the adapter
Fiberglass to be removed
Cuts made
Mounting the speaker to the adapter
Mounting the speaker. Installed baffles too. (Not shown) (forgot a bolt, installed after pics)
Painted the grilles and reinstalled them. Even kept the blows logo for stealthness.
Cost of the project, 8 dollars. I already had the 6x9s.
Sound is way better then what I had. More money to put towards horsepower mods.
I can always go back to 6.5 as I kept my original template for it or I can make another one quite easily. But for now I'm happy.
Thanks for looking.

Went through two pairs (jensen 6.5) kept blowing the highs out, plus in my opinion the highs on my pioneers are much better. So far so good.
