Another possible electrical issue after Bose changeout
I changed my Bose to an AVIC Z2. Since then there is a problem with starting the car. I go in, turn the key and nothing (Lights to the gauges do go on). Take the automatic shifter and move it back to 3rd gear and back to park then the key turns and car starts as usual. Also before the shifter moved no bells about seatbelt, etc.. but after shifter moved back and forward it all works like usual. Any ideas?
No, don't think so. I thought it might be a park indicator switch or something but if I put it in Neutral it still won't start until I move it back and forward. No work on the shifter as I can see. Didn't go there for backup wire, etc..
I still have the bezel off because I am doing final fitting but driving the car anyway with the new HU in. does the bezel need to be on? Still have the console off too with the gas cover leads unhooked. Do have the traction control plugged in.
Thanks for helping me figure it out. At least it doesn't seem to be intermittant problem, happens every time.
has nothing to do with traction control switch at all ive driven with counsel out before, but then again i might have plugged the traction control switch in. try pluggin it in its worth a shot. try unhooking the radio and revese light wire from it and see what hapepens
It was due to using the yellow wire from the left hand top of the passenger fuse box. I used the wire for acc but also for the XM and Ipod boxes and it was too much. That circut is for a relay for the security system. For some reason moving the shifter back and forth once allowed it to start. Cut the wire going to it and all is normal again. Hooked it back up for driving to and from work tomorrow obviously; and tomorrow after work will move it to fuse 22.
