Default Speed Sense on C5

Is the Green/white wire at the head unit plug used for speed sense?

Whelp......some would say yes, and I don't disagree with them, but it didn't work for me. I had to go with the orange wire next to it. I had the Bose stereo in my 98 and tried the green/white, but it wouldn't show pulses on the (Pioneer Avic D3 gauge display.)

All the data I have seen says you need to go to the cluster or under the hood. From my past experience on GM's, it is at the head unit plug if the radio is bose.

There is a small handful or wires wrapped just left of the steering column looping up towards the cluster. You will find Green with white trace which is the signal for the speedo. You can also get the tach pulse (white wire) and just about any other signal sent to the cluster.

Worked like a charm, I did not even need to take out the cluster. I found the VSS wire from underneath. Thanks for all your help.

Yes, it showed pulses (orange wire). I havea question though. When the car is sitting still, and the display is on the gauges, does anyone else's speedo jump back and forth off of zero (the center guage)? I tried the green/white wire and could get any pulses......why???
