I ordered my head unit, amp, signal processor, carpet for my custom sub box, harness, adapter, dash kit, you name it..... I decided to go all new instead of utilizing my old school stuff, mostly for compatibility and space constraints.
I'll get every thing prepared in the next week, and plan on doing the install next weekend.
I'll be sure to take lots of pics and post them up....
Thanks,
I look forward to your install pix.
The Metra 3304 dash kit I got matches the AC surround in my 07.
I see a lot of others had to sand and repaint the textured surface.
I hope yours matches, to save you some time.
Good Luck
Yes, make sure to post install progress.
I had to sand and repaint my Metra 3304 surround to match my 08. Do it if you need to, it makes a huge difference.

OK fellas, why did no one put this in the FAQ's?
That's actually pretty major if it needs to be sanded & painted. I would have went with schoshe or whatever it's called if that were the case..
GAH!
What did you paint it with to match your interior? Is it the trim piece that gets painted, or???

Just the outer most plastic snap on trim piece is what you actually see. Some are textured and black like mine, some are smooth and dark gray like the rest of the dash.

A lot of folks have sanded and bead blasted with medium bead. I did mine like that and it is a 95% match. The color is at most a 1/2 shade off. It looks 100x better than what I started with. I used the standard metra kit and sanded with 200, 400, 600 and wetsanded with 600 or 800. In total it was 60 minutes of work max. I then had my buddy bead blast it.
Well all of my parts are here save for the head unit, and the insulation kit..... I'm all excited!
I've yet to build my box, but I'll get on it this weekend. Depending on the HU and the insul kit, I may have to postpone the complete install for a week or so. It's not a DD so I can take my time.
The Precision Power Sub didn't work out so I'm thinking of going with a 13" Focal, or a 12" DLS. They are readily available at my friends shop....
Well fellas, I've now got everything EXCEPT the deck.....
The insulation came Saturday, and the Sub showed up this afternoon. I got my box carpet in on Friday, and will start building the box Thursday. The guy I bought the HU from on July 29th is not responding to my emails, and is starting to work my nerves....
More to come.....
I will fully detail the install with pics to be posted later.
