That panel pops off in three places. One on the top, one in the middle and the other on the sill. You will need to pop loose that black panel just a bit (I don't have a drop top so not sure how that releases but it's probably similar to the hardtops where they pop in). You will need to pop loosed the sill panel as well, they are held in by 3 clips on the sill and one up by the dash.
