From my researching the past week i think the 6160 is just the new 6140. By new, i mean it has the latest software/maps, no real change to function or features. I could be wrong though so an expert should chime in.

So if you see reviews on the 6140 they should still apply. Of note the 5140/60 is the same thing as well only without bluetooth so those reviews are valid as well.

I bought my 6160 from Dennis C5 Bears Fan and love it. Everything I need and nothing I don't. The unit boots up very very fast which I really like and is very easy to use. The DVD quality is incredible. I would reccomend this unit to anyone. It is great!

I have installed a few of the 6160 and as Mike mentioned above sent him one.
They are really nice, simple user freindly units.
You cant go wrong with it. Let me know of you need more info, pricing or bezel mod help for this.

Dennis

Dennis:

I am very interested in istalling this unit in my '08 2LT coupe with the standard audio system (non-Bose) which has OnStar and XM, both of which I use and would want to continue to use with the 6160. Can you tell me what I would need to accomplish the install. Can I purchase an install kit with all the needed items from you?

Thanks Dennis. After reading a little more here, I would probably want to be able to use my IPOD and it sounds like adding the back-up camera would be a good idea, too. Can we add those items when I order?

sure can
ipod cable is 29.99
backup camera ranges all over the place depending on if you want the Kenwood camera or something else like a license plate bracket mount style.

If i can get my samples I have coming, I am working on getting a 19 or 20 mm bullet style camera that is cheap enough for me to install into third brake light. I just have not found one I like or that will work without having to spend close to 200.00 just for the camera
