Sirius radio HELP!!!
I'm using the stock XM antenna that is located on the trunk of my 2005 C6, convertible. While the music is SUPER clear.....it justs cuts out wayyyy to often.
Has anyone had this problem and how did you solve it??? Is there a signal booster kit etc. Did running the Sirius antenna help at all??
It's very annoying to say the least!!!
I have Sirius in my truck with the Sirius antenna on top of the roof and it works GREAT.....

SIRIUS reception in my car comes and goes. When it's good, it's really good. But when it's bad I just switch over to the ipod for a few days. I believe it's because of the way the satellites rotate above North America, sometimes there just isn't one close enough.
I have XM in my truck and a Sirius Starmate in my 02. I have noticed that when I drive through a certain area, XM in my truck loses the signal, but Sirius in my 02 does not. The radio on my truck has an AUX port so I installed the Sirius setup in the truck and noticed that Sirius worked just like the car; drove thru the area where XM dies and Sirius works.
I located the Sirius antenna on my 02 on the rear steel frame crossmember and ran the cable through the cabin vent and up to the radio. Pull one taillamp assembly and the crossmember is right there.
Another good spot for coupes is on the "halo bar" under the hinged area for the rear glass. You will have to use foam tape to attach the antenna there.
Has anyone tried getting a piece of sheet metal and putting in the trunk and then putting the Sirius antenna on that???? Would that help at all with reception????? I only ask because my Sirius in my truck, which has the antenna on the roof works GREAT!!!! Soooo.....it must be "something" to do with the metal acting as a gathering device????
Thoughts???
Thus it's not Sirius' signal (I called and had them resend it), not the antenna, nor location of the antenna, and I highly doubt it the Corvettes head unit. My guess is that it's the SIR-GM1 tuner unit I installed.
Do you agree??????
