New system, best place to mount X-overs ?
I have a C5, not finding much room easily accessible, and heard that the doors aren't the best place due to moisture, vibration, etc..
Anyone have a nice clean, accessible spot that works well?
What I am running:
- Focal Components in the Doors with the Tweeters mounted on A-Pillars
- 5-Channel Amp running pair of Subs Stealth Box in back the amp is mounted to rear wall.
From what I see:
- Got room in Rear Cubbies, but then must rewire from rear to fronts all over again.
- Glove Box looks perfect, and I don't mind giving it up, but kind of intrusive, there must be a better spot?
- Also considering the spot inside console right below HVAC Unit, behind the Ash Tray?
All suggestions welcome! Thanks guys!

Hhhhmmmm....
That's an interesting thought, easily accessible, looks the size is about right.
Any downside you can think of?

You my friend is who I have been following, great posts and threads, however the C5 is unfortunately very different in that respect
No room to slide hands in yet alone try to mount and wire up crossovers, I am tempted to trade the C5 !
I hate to get back into the doors, hoping to find better location!

Got the passenger side ziptied up under the dash. There's plenty of space on the right side of the footwell, by the cover that covers the wire leading into the door.
On the driver side, i think I have just above the hood latch, but concealed by the dash cover.
There's plenty of other areas in/around the dash that you could mount them. My car is an 02.
Also, got pictures of your tweeter install? I've got mine attached to the speaker plate, but I'm honestly not too thrilled with that sound, especially after hearing the stock systems in my friend's new BMW.

I found a good spot under the drivers footwell. I will mock it up tomorrow and post a picture. I plan on doing the same on the passenger side, I just don't have that as far disassembled.

I mounted mine in the doors, 3 screws in the fiber glass "door" and the forth I used a small bracket. If you look closely at the black piece there is 4 holes , the stereo shop in LA had mounted them on that "BUBBA" and of course the fell off after a few door slams. Both doors where the same

in the c6 there is a lot of space in a cavity directly above the passenger footwell. you can adhere the crossovers using 3m dual lock velcro. here is a pic of my crossovers:

That's where I had mine in the '07. IIRC there's the most room near the rear of the door, about mid way up, just above the foam.
Even more room in C5.
I've hung lots of stuff in there using zip ties, but lately have just been using double-sticky tape to mount things on top of the plastic piece with the light mounted on it.
Another good idea, just be sure you leave enough slack in the wires for the seat to go full travel in every direction
