Look again. I'll bet the only Bose you have is Bose speakers. In most OEM C6s, the base unit is RDS. When you pay to get an upgraded OEM unit, it's still RDS, just Bose speakers.

Do you mean RDS as in Radio Data System ? If so, that is not a brand of audio, rather a feature that allows some radio signals broadcast with RDS to display accompanying info. RDS is available on many brands including Bose.

Radio Data System (RDS)
The audio system has a Radio Data System (RDS). RDS features
are available for use only on FM stations that broadcast RDS
information. With RDS, the radio can do the following:
. Seek to stations broadcasting the selected type of
programming
. Receive announcements concerning local and national emergencies
. Display messages from radio stations
. Seek to stations with traffic announcements RDS (Radio Data System): Press
RDS to use alternate RDS functions located in the preset menu. After
pressing RDS, quickly choose RDS ON/OFF, TA, INFO, PTY,
or Select PTY. If a selection is not made, the system returns to the previous menu.
If tuned to a station broadcasting RDS information, the station's
Program Service (PS) and Program Type (PTY) replaces the station's
frequency on the status line at the top of the display. After about
five seconds, if available, the PTY is replaced on the display by the
station's PTY name. The PTY and PTY name can be the same or
different.
If the audio system is tuned to a station that is not broadcasting RDS
information, the station's frequency remains on the display.
The RDS feature relies upon receiving specific information from
RDS stations. These features only work when RDS information is
available.

I replaced the head unit on my 3lt 2009 coupe. It is a 6 disc Denso head unit with Blose speakers and amp. The Pioneer NAV I put in is great--eddie

Might have just the Nav portion of your head unit been Denso?
