Installed after market NAV, but not enough volume compare to factory stereo....why?
Anybody had similar situation/experience with after market NAV+stereo?
Hi there,
I'm a new member in this corvette forum and learned a lot from other in this forum. I cannot thank you enough...you guys rock!!! After reading the posts and watching the videos in this forum, I was successfully able to install HUD and an after market NAV in my 2008 1LT base corvette(manual transmission) with NON-Bose stereo system.
Yesterday I took out the factory installed CD/MP3 player and installed the after market Kenwood DNX6190HD NAV in my c6. But I noticed that the factory installed CD/MP3 player had way more volume/sound (tested with the same CD in both) than the newly installed Kenwood.
Can you guys explain why I dont get enough volume? Does the factory build CD player has more power/watts than the Kenwood or I need to add an additional amp or what? OR is it anything to do with the settings?
Please help!!
Thanks in advance.

IIRC GMOS uses speaker level outputs from HU, is that how you connected?
Did you attach HU remote amp trigger to GMOS (or pin B3 of big plug) so the oem amp powers up with radio?

What color wire is the pin B3?

If you only notice a difference on the CD/mp3 side and not the FM radio, then it's possibly a settings issue. Try adjusting the Volume Offset in the Audio Control option. This equalizes the volumes between the different sources, CD/Radio/Aux/USB etc.

C6 prints are here
Check AMP fuse #31 under the hood first.
B3 is the white wire on the oem side of the big C1 plug. You need to apply power to that wire so the oem amp turns on, the gmos SHOULD do that if you connected the HU blue wire.
If you already have the HU amp trigger wire connected to the gmos, then the gmos prob isn't passing it through. If that's the case, you can add a jumper wire that goes around the gmos, or just snip the HU amp trigger before the gmos and attach it directly to the wire at B3 (I use the wire on the gmos side of the plug so you don't have to splice the oem wire).
