Default Using Directwire Smartcord for Escort Radar Detector

Gents and Ladies,
Help! Okay, now that I have that out of my system. I already have the directwire smartcord and would like to use it. I prefer the lower mount (as opposed to review mirror mount) and the separate mute button.

The question is how to run the wire from the windshield to the fuse box under the glove compartment?

Will removing the center speaker give me access? Can I splice into what I think is the sun sensor on the grate and if so which wires to splice into?

Thanks in advance!!!

If you pop out the center speaker grill you can easily run a wire to the footwell, but you'll also have to pull the center console and radio. See if you can tuck the wire in under the front edge of the plastic where it meets the windshield (I know it can be tucked in on the top end, but not sure of at the bottom). Instructions for center speaker grill removal here

For power you can tap a switched fuse in the footwell like heated seats or windshield wipers.
