I am upgrading the stereo from the original Bose. Have all my parts ready to go, but have waited a few weeks for the humount bezel to come in. It arrived today and I mocked it up in the house only to find that it does not mate perfectly to my head unit.
This is there I need help.
---> What can I do if the bezel fits closely, such that if I place the head unit very carefully it almost covers the hole but not quite? I want to block off the hole completely so I don't see back past the hu.
I don't want to wait weeks to send it back, then wait for another one. Especially since I have a slew of projects planned which involve essentially gutting the car and putting it back together and I want to do it all in one shot - not a dozen side projects on and off all summer.
I should say... the bezel is a nice piece of work. Good finish. And the gap is the size that I could slide my key in there. Not big enough for me to use the small factory Kenwood surround, and not small enough obviously to house the head unit close enough.
You should be able to fill the gap with some stick on foam. It comes in various size rolls, the one I have is about 2" wide but you'd only need about 1/2".
