Looks good to me. You will want to consider a few extras though. The alpine makes screen and players seperately. Most of the other makers put the screen and players in one unit. You also might want:
DVD changer
TV tuner
5.1 surround sound capable with mid and tweet in the center of the car.
Don't forget the alarm also. I'd look at a clifford alarm.

The DVD is something I want ... I plan to get either a changer or external unit ... I dont want a TV Tuner ... and as far as 5.1ch is concerned... I have heard it is not useful in a car??? anymore info on that?
they are powered versions of the crossovers... more transparant from what i hear, and more adjustable.
I did some quick research ... and from what I have read ... it would be good to use them ... from what I have read quickly on Crutchfields site ... I put it in-between my amp and HU ... then I can crossover certain frequencies ... but the JL Amp has the same funtionality built in ...
Re: Is this System missing anything? (NewVetteLover)
The 5.1 is out there. Useful? Don't know as I haven't heard one. But I read about them in a few mags and it seemed interesting. If you can get a demo from a shop I'd try a listen. Oh, don't forget the Playstation 2. ;)
Re: Is this System missing anything? (92TripleBlack)
Actually I have thought about the PS2 ... but the PS1 is smaller ... and I might install one of those for the fun of it ... plus its only $100 vs. $200+ ...
Re: Is this System missing anything? (NewVetteLover)
Stick with the MB passive crossovers for the speakers. The maker made them to optimize the speakers capabilites. As for the sub, you may want an adjustable crossover for that frequency and level wise. Most good decks have this built in so you won't need to buy one.

For the Sub ... the Alpine does not have a Sub woofer cut off but the JL amp does ... The Alpine is a very basic unit designed to be the control unit of a whole system ...

I'd go with the crossovers build into the JL Audio amps, very clean and flexiable. Just installed JL 500/5 amp, Alpine head unit with MB Quarts, very
clean sound.
The crossovers (4) are mounted on both sides of the amp.

Thanks for the info ... FUN4JT ... I plan on using 2 amps becuase I want to bi-amp the components and also becuase I have the 500/1 from an old install and the 300/4 was fairly cheap on e-bay ... I have actually bought all of the items including the HU,amps, speakers, and the sub is on order from a local shop ...
