For everyone waiting on the new Kenwoods from Dennis, he told me he's still waiting for them to ship from Kenwood. He believes there is some sort of a hold up related to licensing. Hopefully things shake loose soon.

Sorry guys
I am up to my eyeballs in work and not on here as much this time of year.
I am still waiting for Kenwood to ship radios. I am told anyday. I will begin to ship them as we received them in order of which we received orders by date.
I am prob more frustrated than any of you as this is causing all kinds of problems with us for production of bezels, cancelling of prebooked installations ect.
So I am in contact with them daily to try and find out.

What's the model number on the new unit? I'm working on replacing the wife's c6 convertible system, most likely with the JL stealth boxes with 8w3 and Polk DB 6501 components, but I have no idea what I want to do with the head unit.

I want to research this new unit. Im looking for nav, Bluetooth, backup camera, xm, etc.

Both Apple and JVC Kenwood had lack luster financial performance last quarter. Mis-representation of product maybe one of the reasons.
They certainly need to get their act together and soon.

It sounds to me as if Dennis needs to switch to a different system. From the looks of it, Kenwood does not have rights to Apple's technology and there is no telling when or whether it will get them.

Dennis put a Kenwood 992 in my GS and I'm tickled to death with it. Don't know what the 893 could do better. I don't think Android Auto would add anything that I don't already have, mirroring, wifi, Pandora, etc. Did a great job for me.

latest update is Apple still has not approved the Carplay
Middle of the month I expect to get more info.
