Is the Kenwood DMX 7704S Compatible with Newer Android?
UPDATED - I RECEIVED A RESPONSE THEY CLAIM IT IS COMPATIBLE WITH ALL NEWER ANDROIDS:
"Many of the problems people have seem to come from either not having an updated version of the operating system on their phone OR not using the actual charging cable that comes with their phone. Many Android Auto connectivity problems relate to the fact that the systems are designed to work on the actual voltage and resistance delivered by the manufacturer's charging cable via USB. Aftermarket cables can be troublesome."
Regarding the Kenwood DMX7704s, I read a review at Crutchfield that stated it is NOT compatible with anything (Android) newer than a Samsung S6.
Is this true? I have an S7 Edge, and am ready to do the install.
The manual was not clear, IMO. The mentioned review is below:

I have the DMX7704S but I have an iPhone. I don't have an andriod phone handy to test. If I can get my hands on one I would be more than happy to test it out.
