Default Audio HELP! Trying to hook up amp lead line and speakers to 09380781 stock unit

Trying to hook up an amp lead line to 09380781 stock unit of my 2000. I don't know what wires to splice for power/lead/remote line(this is the line that connects to the amp that shuts it off when the radio is off, not the power line that connects directly to the battery from the amp) and rear left and rear right speaker wires. Help, please, my car is torn apart and this is the last piece i need to figure out!

You would need an adapter (not just a harness or simple splices) to provide the required interface between the OEM system and the new external amp. This is due to the way the factory system was designed.

The
PAC AOEM-VET1 PAC AOEM-VET1
will do that and provide you with line-level RCA audio outputs to connect the amp

Madson, do I connect the amp lead/remote to the Constant or Switched 12V?

The head-unit has 4 connectors in the back:
  • C1 / C2 (which is a single siamese connector) - power, ground, BCM data, front and rear speakers
  • C3 - power amp inputs
  • C4 - pre-amp outputs

As I mentioned above, it's not as simple as splicing because circuits could be damaged. The C5 Bose system is based on a modified Delco head-unit that uses pseudo-differential low level signals along with fully differential speaker level signals. The common signals are not standard and have a DC offset, so they cannot be grounded.

This is why the adapter I mentioned above is needed to safely take care of all necessary interfacing and make the process plug-and-play.

Thanks a ton, ordered the adapter. Anything I need to know before it arrives and I hook it up? Is it pretty much plug-n-play?

Yes, you won't need to cut any OEM wire. It is plug-and-play and will provide you with line-level RCA audio outputs to connect the amp, as well as a remote turn-on signal to control it
