Question on double-din / RP5-GM11 install
Hoping someone can help me out here on my C6 double-din install. I am using the PAC RP5-GM11 harness to hook up the head unit and along with the instruction guide for the harness there was an extra slip in the package stating that for high power double-din units 2 jumper wires MAY need to be installed. I have linked to these instructions from PAC's website below. I have looked through several install guides here on the forums and I don't see any mention of this on any installs. Is this something I need to do or not? Thanks in advance for anyone with any info.

Mine didn't even come with those instructions, so needless to say, I didn't do it either.

Thanks for the responses. Just finished up the install last night and had no issues at all installing the unit without the jumpers installed. I will update the thread if i have to go back in and install them for any reason

What kind of head unit did you install ?

Nice, i was actually surprised at how easy the install was. Eveything could be soldered outside the car then its pretty much plug and play. Actually took me longer to run the backup camera than to install the head unit

I agree, it was probably one of the easiest installs I've ever done and I've been doing installs on my own vehicles for 40 years.

I just added a backup camera also. Where did you put the camera?

I mounted it just next to the passenger side license plate light. I was able to use the same screw to mount the camera that holds the light so there was no drilling/cutting needed

I also bought the 8200. Haven't installed it yet. How do you like it? What are some of your favorite features of this head unit?
Did you change the entire system in your car? Is this harness required if I plan on changing the entire system?
Since my car is a vert, having a hard time trying to figure out the best/space saving options for adding BASS.
I am going with a 4 chnl amp that will power 6.5" component speakers in the doors, upgrade rears to 2-way coaxial 5.25 speakers, but still not decided on the options for bass & adding a 2nd amp. What's your expert opinion on this (vert)? Thanks...
